Debbie qualified in the mid 1980’s from City University. She moved to Norwich and worked for D & A for several years. In 1997, she joined R M Ling, Optometrists in North Walsham and has worked there ever since, where she is a partner with Martin Ling.
She has served on the committee of the LOA, organising meetings for 3 years and then joined the LOC, becoming Treasurer in 2002.
In her spare time, she enjoys travelling to far flung parts of the planet and when at home working in her garden or allotment or can be found walking on the North Norfolk coast. She has recently received her 15 years as a volunteer for the National Trust, where she engages in outdoor conservation work, which consists mainly of cutting things down and burning them, a perfect antidote to the stresses of running a practice!
Roger graduated from Manchester University In Optometry in 1989 and has worked in independent practices within Norfolk ever since.He is director and Optometrist of Roger Lee Optometrists in Sheringham.
He is a clinical supervisor at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge and in 2007 gained an additional qualification in Ocular Therapeutics (Additional Supply).
Roger has been heavily involved in the work of Vision Aid Overseas and was awarded a trustees award in 2011 for his work in India.
Studied at Aston and and qualified at F.G.Browns in Stowmarket, Suffolk. Having spent several years working for a multiple and more recently as a locum, is now based at his own Practice with his Optometrist wife in Diss. His main areas of interest are the applications of new technology in practice, pathology, dispensing and paediatric Optometry.
Studied at City University, graduating in 1993, moved to Cambridge for pre-registration training with a multiple and after qualifying, stayed with them for another 15 years in various roles including management posts and pre-registration supervision, during which time she relocated with her young family to Norfolk. At the beginning of 2009 moved to Wigram & Ware Opticians, an independent based in North-West Norfolk and also joined the LOC committee.
Charlotte graduated from Anglia Ruskin University in Optometry in 2011. She relocated to Norfolk from North Lincolnshire for her pre- registration year. She has worked at Specsavers enjoying various roles and is now Senior Optometrist at the King's Lynn branch. More recently she has started work at Anglia Ruskin as a clinic supervisor
Elizabeth graduated from Bradford University in 2006 and worked for several years for Dolland and Aitchison in the Northwest of England. She started doing domiciliary work for a large national company in 2008 and soon after moved from the Northwest to Norfolk with her husband Craig in 2009. After the birth of her son Joseph she decided to start her own domiciliary company and has been working as a self-employed locum in independent optometry practices as well as her domiciliary work across the county since 2011
I am a dispensing optician, live in Gorleston on Sea, and really enjoy my job. I have been in this profession for over 35 years now and love to keep up with all the new things that evolve in optics . I like photography and motorcycles and in my spare time I am a radio presenter on my local hospital radio. Busy life for me , but I love it .
Studied Ophthalmic Dispensing with Statistics at Anglia Polytechnic University, graduating in 2003. After completing her pre-registration year in practice in Peterborough she moved to Norfolk to be closer to family.
She is a Director of Coleman Opticians with practices in Norwich and Great Yarmouth, juggling a busy working week with looking after her little girl.
In her spare time (if she can find any) she enjoys travelling and food, not being too fussy about where she goes or indeed what she eats! Her current ambition is to travel in Cambodia, eating snake along the way.
I am a Dispensing Optician,living and working in North Norfolk for 20 years. My interests are all sports,walking and travel. I am an active member of vision aid overseas and have been on eight trips so far, teaching dispensing and glazing. Dan graduated from City University in 1992 and spent his pre-registration year at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London. Between 1993 and 2003, he held a senior optometrist post at Moorfields which included ‘extended roles’ within the glaucoma and paediatric services. An interest in visual psychophysics led to a Ph.D. from University College London in 2005 and a series of peer-reviewed publications. Dan has been involved in continuing education for UK optometrists for over 10 years and is currently glaucoma lead for Cardiff University’s post graduate optometry programme. He is Principal Optometrist and Head of Department at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital where his clinical interests are glaucoma, low vision, contact lenses, paediatric eye care and medical retina. He continues to work part-time in community optometric practice.

Co-founded Norwich Specsavers Ltd in1994. Now Specsavers’ Flagship Regional Practice employing over 100 professional and support staff.
Professional Interests: Practice management, student supervision, peer support and general optometric practice.
Peter is a retired Optometrist and former Chairman of Norfolk & Waveney Local Optical Committee. He Trained at UWIST, now Cardiff University, and was registered in 1972 gaining qualifications which later became BSc.(Hons), FCOptom. Peter began work with Wigram & Ware Ltd in Bury St. Edmunds and subsequently Kings Lynn, before moving to live in Jamaica. He joined Broadbent Opticians, working in Montego Bay, Ocho Rios and Kingston. On returning to UK he re-joined Wigram & Ware Ltd, King's Lynn. In 1989 he and a colleague acquired the company and in 2003 opened a second practice in Dersingham. Peter retired in 2011 . His current interests are in sailing, photography and travel.
