Welcome to the website of

The Norfolk & Waveney Local Optical Committee

Norfolk & Waveney Local Optical Committee is a statutory organisation representing the Performers and Contractors registered to provide General Ophthalmic Services with the Norfolk and Great Yarmouth and Waveney Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs). It is the role of the LOC to act in the best interest of its members when entering discussions and negotiations with CCGs and other organisations that wish to engage with registered Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians in this area.

We aim to provide information to the general public about the services available from Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians working throughout the area and general advice about commonly occurring disorders of the eyes and vision. Information about the specialist services provided by each practice can be found by using the "Find an Optician" tool in  the menu to the left or by using the map and clicking on a marker to reveal details for a chosen practice.

  • BEWARE! Scam Email directed at Optometrists

From LOCSU: Dear LOC Colleagues  It has been brought to our attention that there is a financial scam email currently going around, which is from one of your LOC colleagues asking for an urgent transfer of money for ‘professional services for an upcoming event’.  We urge you to remain vigilant of such scams and be wary of making any payments, or clicking on any attachments or links within the email. Some usual signs to determine whether it’s fake or not is by spelling mistakes within the sender’s email and email address, and whether the presentation of the email is not in the usual modus operandi of the person who’s allegedly sent it.  If the email just shows a name as the sender, please hover your mouse over the name and this should show you the full email address.  If you think you may have received such an email, or simply not sure of its authenticity, please check with the person who has ‘sent’ it before doing anything with the email, or simply delete it.
